Two Gold Mines For Sale
Location |
A few miles from Gweru, Midlands, Zimbabwe
Current owner |
|
|||
Ore grade |
The ore grade varies through the ore reef but averages 15g per metric tonne.
Nature of Ore |
The ore body is reef type making it visible when the grade is high. No extensive exploration of the extends of the reef has been carried out. There are other small mines in the area and it is widely thought that this is a gold rich zone.
Production rates |
The production potential of the mines has never been realised. Mining at these two mines was done more as a hobby than as a method of making a living. Production was limited to less than one kilogram per month.
Area |
The area is a farming area which is sparsely
populated, with a few small wild animals. Construction permission is easily given by the
relevant authorities. Security in the area for locals and visitors is very high. There is no need for any protection of any kind. Accommodation is available in Gweru. The nearest hamlets of Insiza and Shangani do not have hotels but have small shops, posting facilities and police stations. Anyone wishing to develop the mines would be allowed to construct dwellings for staff. |
|||
Mechanisation |
Neither mine has ever been mechanised. The mines have so far employed more manpower than machines because the reefs are on the surface. All working has been by hand tools. For higher productions rates, some level of mechanisation would be necessary.
Staff |
There are many qualified miners in Zimbabwe so that it is easy to recruit. Currently there are only four staff who work when asked to.
Water control |
There are no water control problems in the mine workings, as the area is a low rainfall area.
Accessibility |
The mines are accessible from Gweru, via trunk roads. The dust road from the trunk road to the mines is less than five miles (eight km) and is never impassable.

For each mine, the value will be negotiable.

is estimated that the mines will be allowed to go for less than their real value. The price includes the land on which the mines are. The owner would hold title deeds to the land. Agreements can be concluded within one calendar month subject to negotiation. |
All serious enquirers will be considered.
